Bridge Remains OPEN to Traffic at ALL Times
UPDATE: Lane closures and scheduling MMB moves have come to an end for the Physical Suicide Deterrent System construction project as of January 23, 2026.
The Golden Gate Bridge will have overnight lane closures during the week and on occasional Saturdays to allow for Suicide Deterrent System construction. Drivers should expect to slow down around construction areas and may experience minor traffic delays during construction hours.
Please note: When the overnight lane configuration is set to one northbound and two southbound lanes, pedestrian access to the east sidewalk will CLOSE one hour earlier—at 8:00 p.m. during Pacific Daylight Time.
Monday, January 26 through Friday, January 30, 2026
- Overnight Monday, January 26, no lane closures needed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (Tuesday morning).
- Overnight Tuesday, January 27, no lane closures needed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (Wednesday morning).
- Overnight Wednesday, January 28, no lane closures needed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (Thursday morning).
- Overnight Thursday, January 29, no lane closures needed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (Friday morning).
- Overnight Friday, January 30, no lane closures needed between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Saturday morning).
