Beginning Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the two center lanes on the Golden Gate Bridge will be closed for roadway maintenance every Wednesday from approximately 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. through early November. Traffic on the Bridge will remain open in both directions, but drivers should expect to slow down around construction zones and may experience delays while the lane closures are in effect.
Maintenance performed will include pothole and asphalt repairs. During the roadway work, the Bridge will be narrowed to two southbound and two northbound lanes. Work is expected to be completed by 1:00 p.m. every Wednesday, at which time the Bridge will be returned to a three southbound and three northbound lane configuration.
Staff will monitor traffic and weather prior to implementing the lane closure and cancel work if necessary. Should the scheduled Wednesday work be cancelled, the lane closure will be moved to Thursday, traffic and weather permitting.
Traffic control and signage will be in place during all roadway maintenance. Drivers should plan to slow down and proceed with caution around work areas during the lane closures.
