APEC Impacts for Golden Gate Transit, Ferry, and Golden Gate Bridge

APEC Economic Leaders’ Week will be held in San Francisco November 11-19, 2023. Due to road closures and detours in San Francisco during the meetings, there will be some service impacts to Golden Gate Transit routes near the Civic Center and Financial District. Please sign up for alerts so you don't miss any notifications. The public can also text APEC2023 to 888777 for real-time alerts from the SFEOC. CalTrans estimates an additional 60-90 minute delay onto commute drive-times during APEC. 

There will be parking lot closures at the Golden Gate Bridge.

Golden Gate Ferry is not expecting service disruptions. We recommend taking the Ferry into San Francisco during APEC service disruptions on city streets.

Golden Gate Transit Service Impacts Saturday and Sunday, 11/18 - 11/19

Routes 101, 130, and 150 will continue to serve Market St island stops over the weekend of November 18 and 19, as a result of street closures around Moscone Center due to APEC. Service at Civic Center stops will resume on Saturday, 11/18. Regular route, via Mission St will resume on Monday, 11/20. 

 

Golden Gate Transit Service Impacts 11/13 - 11/17/23
In addition to the service impacts listed below, our buses may experience delays. Please utilize real-time arrival info for accurate trip planning.

APEC_Map

Civic Center Routes 101, 130, 150. 

  • No stops will be served in the Civic Center area in both the NB and SB directions. Southbound buses will stay on Van Ness and turn left onto Market Street - the last SB stop will be on Beale & Market. Northbound trips will begin at Salesforce, bypass Mission Street, and the next curbside stop will be on Market.
  • Stops not served 11/13 - 11/17 
    • ​McAllister St & Polk St

    • Larkin St & Grove St

    • Hyde St & Grove St

    • All stops on Mission St. Passengers wishing to board on Market St need to flag drivers down from island stops. (Updated 11/15/23)

    • Alexander Ave in Sausalito

  • On Thursday, 11/16, there will be additional impacts to Civic Center routes. See map below for 11/16/23 detour.

    • Southbound Civic Center Routes on Thursday will not service stops past Broadway. 

    • Northbound Civic Center Routes will detour to the Financial District from Salesforce to Broadway

    • Please sign up for alerts to stay up to date on any additional service changes

Financial District Routes 114, 132, 154, 172.

  • For southbound schedules Battery & Pine will be the last stop. 
  • Northbound schedules will begin at Fremont & Mission St and run regular service from there
  • There will be additional impacts to northbound service on Wednesday, 11/15.  Northbound Financial District schedules will not serve Sansome Street to Van Ness, instead service will be along Columbus Ave. Please sign up for alerts to stay up to date on any additional service changes and view map below.

Golden Gate Ferry Service Impacts 11/13 - 11/17/23

  • Golden Gate Ferry is the recommended mode of public transit during APEC detours on city streets

Golden Gate Bridge Traffic Impacts 11/11 - 11/18/23

  • These parking lots closed from 11/11 - 11/18/23
    • Vista Point (North-East side of the Bridge)
    • ​Golden Gate Bridge Employee Parking Lot (Lot between Cranston & Merchant Rd.)
    • Upper West Lot (Lot on Merchant Rd.)
    • South-East Lot (Lot by the GGB Welcome Center)

Golden Gate Bridge sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists during regular hours throughout the event.
