Free WiFi is available on all Golden Gate Transit buses. The service is easy to use and allows customers to stay connected for the duration of their ride. Customers can check email or surf the Internet while they ride the bus to work or school. Provided via dual cellular services (Verizon Wireless and AT&T Wireless) for additional reliability.

CAD/AVL
INIT (Innovations in Transportation Inc.) serves as central communication system and provides CAD/AVL (Computer-Aided Dispatch / Automatic Vehicle Location) solution. The vehicle's central control unit which organizes voice and radio data traffic, calculates vehicle location information; and supports vehicle peripheral devices, such as automatic passenger counting system, audio announcements, and passenger information signs and displays.

FARE COLLECTION
Clipper is a convenient and secure way to pay your bus fare. Electronic cash is stored on a smart card that is touched to a card reader when getting on and off the bus. Clipper customers automatically receive interagency transfers, as well as discounts on the cash fare.

Customers paying with cash, change card, or paper transfer use the GFI farebox to complete their transaction. If change exceeds $1, the farebox will issue a change card valid for future rides on Golden Gate Transit.

DIGITAL HEADSIGN
Headsigns display route number and destination using high-intensity amber or white LEDs with excellent readability in daytime or nighttime conditions. Regional information can be changed remotely and, when necessary, drivers can push out emergency messaging.
