There's a seat for everyone on Golden Gate Transit (GGT) and Golden Gate Ferry (GGF). On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry celebrate Rosa Parks’ birthday and Transit Equity Day. We recognize the importance of public transit to the community, environment, and the need for its accessibility to all.

Rosa Parks
Transit Equity Day was inspired by Rosa Parks, an American civil rights activist whose refusal to relinquish her seat on a public bus precipitated the 1955–56 Montgomery bus boycott in Alabama, which became the spark that ignited the civil rights movement in the United States. Accessibility Through Affordability
Affordability is key to making transit accessible to all. Fare tables for both GGT and GGF include discounted fares for adults, youth, seniors, disabled, Medicare, and Clipper START. Clipper START cards provide a 50% discount on most Golden Gate Bus and Ferry rides for eligible low-income adults.

Participate in Local Events
