TEMPORARY INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE DETOURS, SAUSALITO, NOVATO, CORTE MADERA/LARKSPUR, SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2015
On Saturday, July 4, GGT bus service will operate on several detours due to Independence Day parades in Sausalito, Corte Madera and Larkspur, and Novato, as follows:

  • Sausalito. Between 8:30AM and 1:30PM, GGT Routes 10 and 17 will NOT operate through Sausalito and will NOT serve any bus stops in Sausalito. Instead, Route 10 will operate directly between Marin City and the Golden Gate Bridge and serve the northbound and southbound Spencer Ave bus pad stops, and Route 17 will begin and end service in Marin City.
  • Corte Madera/Larkspur. Northbound GGT Route 22 trips leaving Marin City between 7:58AM and 1:58PM will serve stops up to and including the Tiburon Wye bus pad but will NOT serve stops along Tamalpais Avenue in Corte Madera or along Magnolia Avenue in downtown Larkspur. Instead, northbound buses will serve the Corte Madera/Paradise Drive bus pad and return to regular route on Magnolia Ave at Bon Air Rd. Southbound Route 22 trips leaving the San Rafael Transit Center between 8AM and 2PM will serve stops up to and including Magnolia Ave farside Skylark but will NOT serve stops along Magnolia Ave in downtown Larkspur or along Tamalpais Ave in Corte Madera. Instead, southbound buses will serve the stop at Bon Air farside Magnolia, the southbound Lucky Drive bus pad and Corte Madera bus pad stops, and return to regular routing. NOTE: All regular GGT stops along detour routes will be served.
  • Novato. Between 10AM and 12:30PM, northbound and southbound GGT service at Redwood & Grant may be delayed while police allow buses to cross Grant Ave during breaks in the parade.

MARIN COUNTY FAIR DETOUR, SAN RAFAEL, WEDNESDAY, JULY 1 THRU SUNDAY, JULY 5, 2015
From Wednesday, July 1 through Sunday, July 5, GGT Routes 45, 45K, and 49 will operate on a detour in the Marin Civic Center area due to the Marin County Fair. Southbound buses will detour, but still serve ALL southbound bus stops. Northbound buses will also detour and will NOT serve stops at Civic Center Dr farside North San Pedro Rd (in front of Post Office) and the northbound Hall of Justice Arch stop. Northbound buses will temporarily serve the southbound Hall of Justice Arch stop.

DOYLE DRIVE EXTENDED WEEKEND CLOSURE, SAN FRANCISCO, THURSDAY, JULY 9 -  MONDAY, JULY 13, 2015
From 10pm on Thursday, July 9 through 5am on Monday, July 13, Doyle Drive in San Francisco will be closed. During this time, Golden Gate Transit customers should expect delays on all trips. ALL GGT service will operate on a detour in SF and transfers to/from the Civic Center area should occur at the Toll Plaza. In addition, some stops will NOT be served, as follows (info HERE too):

  • Financial District commute service routing (Friday, July 10 only):
    • In the southbound direction, from the GGB, buses will operate on Hwy 1/Park Presidio to Geary Blvd to Van Ness Ave to regular routing along North Point and Beach Sts. Buses will serve ALL GGT stops along the detour route; stops at Richardson & Francisco and Lombard & Fillmore will NOT be served. Customers are directed to the nearest stop at Van Ness & Chestnut.
    • In the northbound direction, buses will reverse the above detour (normal routing thru Financial District and Fisherman's Wharf, to Van Ness, to Geary, to Park Presidio, to GGB). Buses will serve ALL GGT stops along the detour route; stops at Lombard & Fillmore and Richardson & Francisco will NOT be served. Customers are directed to the nearest stops at Van Ness & Chestnut or Van Ness & Union.
  • Civic Center service routing (Friday, July 10 thru Sunday, July 12):
    • In the southbound direction, from the GGB, buses will operate on Hwy 1/Park Presidio to Geary Blvd to Webster to Golden Gate Ave to regular routing. Buses will serve ALL GGT stops along the detour route; stops at Richardson & Francisco, Lombard & Fillmore, and ALL stops along Van Ness Ave will NOT be served. Customers are directed to the nearest stop at McAllister & Polk.
    • In the northbound direction, buses will reverse the above detour (normal routing to Civic Center, to Webster, to Geary, to Park Presidio, to GGB). Buses will serve ALL GGT stops along the detour route; stops along Van Ness Ave and at Lombard & Fillmore and Richardson & Francisco will NOT be served. Customers are directed to the nearest stop at McAllister & Polk.

During the closure, the Golden Gate Bridge will remain OPEN at all times but motorists should expect major delays, particularly during the Friday commute periods. In addition, Golden Gate Ferry will operate added service throughout the weekend. Click HERE for details.

NORTHBOUND NORTH SAN PEDRO BUS PAD STOP, 9:00PM TO 6:00AM, SUNDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS, BEGINNING SUNDAY, JUNE 14, 2015 (EXCEPT DURING MARIN COUNTY FAIR, JULY 1 & 2)
Beginning Sunday, June 14, and continuing each Sunday through Thursday night (9:00PM to 6:00AM)--except on July 1 and 2 during the Marin County Fair, GGT Route 70 and 101 buses will NOT serve the northbound North San Pedro Rd bus pad stop due to construction. Customers are directed to the nearest northbound bus stops at the San Rafael Transit Center or the Terra Linda/Freitas Pkway bus pad stop.

ANDERSEN DRIVE BUS STOP CLOSED DURING CONSTRUCTION, SAN RAFAEL, BEGINNING TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2015
Beginning Tuesday, May 19, the bus stop located opposite 1022 Andersen Drive in San Rafael will be CLOSED due to construction. Customers are directed to nearby bus stops at 1011 Andersen Drive (in front of GGT-San Rafael) or 1261 Andersen Drive.

ROUTE 42 RICHMOND BART STATION BUS STOP TEMPORARILY RELOCATED, BEGINNING APRIL 15, 2015
Beginning Wednesday, April 15, and continuing until further notice, Route 42 will not serve the stop in the Richmond BART station due to construction. Instead all Route 42 trips will serve a temporary stop near the entrance to the BART station at MacDonald Avenue, nearside 16th Street.

THURSDAY EVENING FARMERS MARKET, 4TH STREET, SAN RAFAEL, 4:00PM TO 10:00PM, THURSDAYS, APRIL THROUGH SEPTEMBER
From 4:00PM to 10:00PM every Thursday, between April 2 and the end of September, GGT Routes 22, 23, and 27 will operate on a detour in downtown San Rafael due to the weekly Thursday Farmers Market. During this time, the bus stops at 4th Street & Court Street (in both directions) will NOT be served. Customers are directed to nearby stops at 4th Street & C Street or the San Rafael Transit Center.

PERRY & 3RD STREET STOP, SAN FRANCISCO, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Effective immediately, the eleven northbound trips on Routes 4, 24, and 54 that begin at Folsom St & 7th St will NOT serve the Perry St & 3rd St bus stop due to extreme traffic delays. Buses will operate from Folsom St & 7th St directly to Folsom St & 2nd St where customers can transfer to their desired route.

FREMONT & FOLSOM BUS STOP RELOCATION, SAN FRANCISCO, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Beginning Monday, December 1, the San Francisco bus stop on Fremont Street Farside Folsom Street will move 200 feet closer to Howard Street to a temporary bus stop. All GGT northbound Financial District commute buses will serve this temporary stop.

SOUTH PETALUMA BLVD & KASTANIA RD BUS STOP, PETALUMA, EFFECTIVE JUNE 16, 2014
Beginning Monday, June 16, 2014, until further notice, GGT Routes 74 and 101 will NOT serve the southbound bus stop at Petaluma Blvd South & Kastania Rd due to construction. Customers are directed to a temporary stop by the Park & Ride parking lot.

TEMPORARY BUS STOP RELOCATION, VAN NESS AVE & O'FARRELL, SAN FRANCISCO, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Until further notice, the southbound bus stop at Van Ness farside O'Farrell will move to Van Ness nearside O'Farrell.

BUS STOP TEMPORARILY NOT SERVED, PERRY & 4TH STREET, SAN FRANCISCO, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Until further notice, the southbound/inbound bus stop at Perry & 4th Streets will NOT be served due to construction. Customers are directed to disembark at the nearby stop at Folsom & 4th Streets.
