The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 13, 2002, at 6:00 p.m., Marin City Community Center, 630 Drake Avenue, Sausalito, CA, to receive public comment on a proposal to increase tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge. The Community Center is known as the Marin City Manzanita Center and is in the Marin City area of Sausalito.


Driving Directions

A toll increase is being considered by the District's Board of Directors as part of a plan to address a projected $1 billion financial deficit over the next 10 years. A Planning Analysis Report that reviews the possible effects of 12 toll options has been completed by staff. The findings from this Report will be included in a Financial Plan Report that will be presented to the Board of Directors on May 23, 2002. A staff recommendation on a specific toll option will be included in the Financial Plan Report. The staff recommendation regarding a potential toll option will be the subject of the June 13 public hearing. Following the hearing, the Board of Directors could take action on the staff recommendation as soon as June 28, 2002.
