Bicycle Programs at the District

Another way the District is reducing its carbon footprint is by making a concerted effort to integrate bicycle transportation with our bus and ferry services and encouraging our bus and ferry customers to ride their bicycles to their bus stop or ferry terminal. To help make this easier, we’ve done the following:

• Installed bike racks capable of holding 4 to 6 bikes at more than 40 key bus stops, 20 bikes at the San Rafael Transit Center and 24 bikes at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal
• Equipped all buses with bike racks
• Provide for bikes on all ferries, including up to 11 to 15 on the high-speed catamarans and 25 to 70 on the Spaulding vessels
